Internship News

Our student internship program began with the desire to bring Energy Medicine to as many people as possible, especially to those who may never have been exposed to it. In September 2002, our program started with three hospitals in Connecticut: Saint Francis Hospital, Hospital of Saint Raphael and Hartford Hospital. Beginning in September 2004, we will be in five hospitals in Connecticut and Saint Elizabeth Home, a Skilled Nursing facility in Rhode Island.

Saint Francis Hospital's internship program originated with three outpatient clinics: Family Medicine and two in Women's Health. Today that program has grown to include in-patient units: pre & post-op, oncology, cardiac and general surgery floors. The Connecticut Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of St. Francis Hospital, has approach us to have our students work with their patients as well. We hope to begin internships there this fall.

Three years ago, we started treating patients at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in the outpatient oncology department. The positive results there have gained the attention of the hospital wide pain control committee. They are now looking at expanding the program to inpatient oncology and the one-day surgery unit.

Two years ago we began an internship at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington, Connecticut in the Hollfelder Center for Women's Health. The program was very well received by both the staff and patients. They are now interested in having more students at their site, as well as, expanding the program to include outpatient Oncology and inpatient units. As of 2005 we are now also serving the Hebrew Home and Hospital in Bloomfield, CT along with 13 other facilities.

"I found my internship experience at John Dempsey Hospital in Women's Health to be invaluable to me and my development as an Energy Medicine Practitioner. I was treated as an integral part of the staff. It was truly a team approach to healing and wellness."
